TowerPinkster, an architecture, engineering and interior design firm based in Michigan, is looking for a talented Senior Commissioning Agent. This position is responsible for Building Systems Commissioning projects to ensure the Owner’s Project Requirements are met throughout the project.
Commissioning is a quality assurance service to ensure that building systems work as intended through a systematic, documented, and collaborative process involving peer review, construction observations, functional testing, and training.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES + EXPECTATIONS

- Manage existing client relationships and develop relationships with future clients.
- Lead the project commissioning team to complete the scope of work.
- Conduct Commissioning Kickoff Meetings with Owner and Contractors.
- Serve as the Commissioning Agent Project Manager for various commissioning efforts.
- Coordinate with our internal team of commissioning agents to ensure milestones are met.
- Work with Owner’s to develop the Owner’s Project Requirements.
- Development of Commissioning Plans and Readiness Schedules.
- Provide peer design review of plumbing, HVAC and Electrical systems.
- Conduct site observation surveys, and prepare field reports on the status of projects and completion of projects with respect to compliance.
- Partner with Clients to advise on problem resolution within the scope of the design.
- Create and carry out functional test procedures, while diagnosing and troubleshooting faults and repairs.
- Partner with Contractors for design specifications. Ensure that equipment operates as intended while meeting the Basis of Design and conforming to the Owner’s Project Requirements.
- Make improvements and offer guidance on operation procedures for Clients.
- Write reports and create necessary documentation, as well as other administrative duties including the Final Commissioning Report at the conclusion of each project.
- Ensure safe working conditions, while communicating project safety requirements per regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Mentor team to share experiences, knowledge, skills and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Lead, teach and guide other project team members to assist in their growth and development.
- Provide input on work priorities and project scheduling.
- Conduct quality control reviews on various commissioning projects that include design reviews in their scope.
- Serve as a commissioning subject matter expert to resolve project issues.
- Provide input to department standards and procedures.

- Associate‘s or Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Certification as a Commissioning Agent, either BCxP or CCP.
- Relevant experience of eight or more years. Relevant experience includes direct commissioning experience, field technician for HVAC controls, or similar.
- Extensive knowledge of standards and codes.
- Field HVAC experience is a plus.
- LEED Accredited Professional is a plus.
